East Durham Veterans Trust is proud to announce its official recognition as a Valour Recognised Centre, marking a significant milestone in our continued commitment to supporting veterans and their families across the North East.

This recognition reflects the dedication, compassion, and high standards of support that our team has consistently delivered to the armed forces community. Over the past four years, we have supported more than 1300

veterans and family members, providing early intervention, casework support, wellbeing programmes, and pathways into specialist services. Becoming a Valour Recognised Centre highlights the impact of this work and reinforces our role as a trusted provider within the region.

At the heart of East Durham Veterans Trust is a simple mission: to ensure that no veteran is left behind. We understand that transitioning from military to civilian life can bring a range of challenges, including mental health struggles, isolation, financial difficulties, and housing concerns. Our caseworker-led approach focuses on early intervention—identifying issues before they escalate and supporting individuals with tailored care plans to achieve stability and recovery.

This recognition has been made possible through strong partnership working. We collaborate with a wide range of organisations including the NHS, local authorities, and fellow veteran charities such as SSAFA, Launchpad, AFOS, The Poppy Fctory, DMWS, The Chelsea Pensionners and Veterans for Veterans in care. By working together, we ensure veterans receive holistic, joined-up support that meets their individual needs.

Becoming a Valour Recognised Centre is not just an achievement—it is a commitment. It strengthens our determination to continue improving services, expanding our reach, and delivering the highest standard of care to those who have served.

We would like to thank our staff, volunteers, partners, and, most importantly, the veterans and families we support. Your trust drives everything we do.

As we move forward, East Durham Veterans Trust remains committed to building a stronger, more connected veteran community—one where every individual feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
