Armed Forces Day 2023

Saturday 24th June was Armed Forces Day 2023 and we celebrated in true East Durham Veterans Trust style. Lots of food, drink, dancing and Laughter filled the day, and we want to tell you all about it!

The day kicked off at 12pm with a drum head service, with all three service cadet forces on parade.

This was followed by an afternoon full of live music with Soldier Mac, Rabble Rousers, The Veterans Group, Duette, Bare Bones and Ian Campbell all taking to the stage to entertain the crowd.

The bar was open, and everyone was fne spirits as we partied the day away singing and dancing to all of the wonderful acts.

A day not just for the adults, very much a family affair, there was a fun fair to entertain the little ones in the audience.

The food stalls present on the day made sure that each person was catered to and full of delicious goods.

We ourselves had our very own East Durham Veterans Trust stall, where we sold merchandise and held a tombola aiming to raise money to help fund the fantastic work and programmes we offer our veterans and the wider community.

Once the dust had settled on an absolutely wonderful day and the counting had been done, we were thrilled to find that we had raised a fantastic £1682 to go toward the running of our programmes and services and we would like to thank each and every person that contributed.

As it was such a great day, we were sure to take lots of pictures, please check them out below!
