Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and friendly part-time driver to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting veterans and who has a flexible, customer-focused approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting veterans and staff to various locations as needed, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport veterans and staff to and from designated locations safely and on time.

  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and fueled.

  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking as needed.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel consumption.

  • Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the relevant authorities.

  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating empathy and respect towards all passengers.

  • Communicate effectively with the East Durham Veterans Trust team to coordinate transport needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.

  • Previous experience in a driving or transport role is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle physical tasks related to the role, such as assisting passengers.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting veterans and contributing to their well-being.

  • Must pass a background check and any required safeguarding training.
